Excedrin Migraine

Excedrin migraine is a registered, non-prescription pain reliever made by Bristol-Myers Squibb, Hillside, NJ. This pain reliever that contains aspirin, acetaminophen, and therapeutically active caffeine, in independent studies of 1,250 patients, was clinically proven to relieve migraine headache pain.

Even the patients with tough migraines, after taking Excedrin Migraine, experienced:

  • Major improvements in their ability to take part in normal activities
  • Lasting pain relief
  • A noticeable reduction in pain within 30 minutes

For treatment of all the symptoms of a migraine, Excedrin Migraine is the first non-prescription medicine approved by the FDA.

Many healthcare professionals recommend that you try Excedrin Migraine before they prescribe you a more expensive prescription drug that potentially contains drug interactions and serious side effects.

This medicine is available in the following three forms:

  • Caplets
  • Tablets
  • Geltabs

While all of the above forms of Excedrin Migraine are equally effective, patients of migraine may prefer one to the other for simplicity in swallowing.

If your headache is accompanied by vomiting, your symptoms continue or worsen or new or unexpected symptoms occur, and your headache is so severe as to require bed rest, FDA advise all such migraine patients to consult with their physicians before use of Excedrin Migraine. If your headaches are not helped by the use of this medicine, your physician may prescribe you drugs for controlling symptoms such as serotonin receptor agonists (Imitrex, for example), ergot preparations (Cafergot, for example), and other migraine drugs such as Depakote and Midrin.
